Training that supports real work

Safety training matters most when it connects to real conditions in the field. At Landfill Group, we focus on building competency so team members aren’t just “checked off” on training, but equipped to make good decisions on the job.

Onboarding with clear expectations

Every team member needs a consistent baseline for safe work.

A strong start from day one
Our onboarding is designed to help new team members understand:

  • The standards that we work by
  • The hazards common to our environments
  • The role they play in keeping the team safe
  • How to report concerns and ask for support

Skills, not just information

Competency is built through repetition and practice.

Hands-on learning
We reinforce key topics with practical demonstrations and scenario-based training because real work rarely looks like a classroom example.

Role-based training
Not every job carries the same risk. Training is aligned to responsibilities so that expectations match the work being performed.

Keeping certifications current

Some roles require formal certifications and recurring refreshers.

Where applicable, we ensure teams maintain certifications such as:

  • CPR / First Aid / AED
  • Equipment or task-specific qualifications
  • Site-access and safety orientation requirements

Reinforcement through field communication

Training doesn’t stop after onboarding. We use routine safety communication to keep key topics front-of-mind, especially when conditions change.

Seasonal awareness
Landfill environments and field sites come with seasonal risks. We reinforce topics like:

  • Heat, hydration, and fatigue management
  • Cold weather exposure
  • Slips, trips, and uneven terrain
  • Ticks, insects, and plant exposure

Measuring what matters

We prioritize leading indicators that show engagement and prevention, like hazard identification and proactive coaching, because those actions reduce the likelihood of incidents.
